I had never heard of "One Fish Ball," but after seeing JennyO's post (above), I did a Mudcat search and learned that the fishball version is the original, dating back to 1926 -- considerably older than the better-known "One Meatball" popularized in the 40s by Josh White and later by Dave Van Ronk. (There's an old thread "Lyr Add: One Fishbabll &d One Meatball.")

Funny how one thing leads to another and you sometimes learn something.
