Sonnet 08/06/02                               DCCI

I search for words, to say my own desires,
But find only clichés. I seek to touch
All that I might of you, one who inspires:
Your heart, soul, mind; Your lips, soft skin, and such.
You offer image to my dreams, and lend
Vision to imagination. The thought
Of rose-soft lips, and smile in eyes, will mend
Past sorrow, and show hope for what I've sought.
I reach to hold you, but remain too far
To send more than my dreams. How can I say
If I might love you? Will real desires mar
All that my words have formed, to hope display?
You know I seek your passion, but as well,
I pray my dreams remain under your spell.
