Sweet dryad, I appreciate concern
But I am still in mourning for past muse.
Heart is not empty: Sorrow fills the urn
That once was soul. I do not smile refuse,
But do not know if I can send you verse
Worthy of those warm eyes. You deserve more
Than echoes of lost dreams. Past hopes still curse
My thoughts: Will tears the light to dreams restore?
To bury dreams, I need some time, alone
If I would not share my despair. I know
You are more than friend, and offer a hope
I need: For image, and the chance to hone
My words. Soul's darkness does not let hope grow:
I must now with my dead desires cope.
