Yes, Freda, you are describing the actions of an essentially fascist government working out its own secret international agenda within the limitations of a technically democratic structure...and subverting and betraying that democratic structure as best it can in the process.

Such things have happened in more places than Australia, I can assure you. They are happening right now in a number of places, most notably the USA. Those who own the media control the message. Those who control the message control most of the public at any given time.

You can have what amounts to a dictatorship even within the framework of a democracy. Just control the sources of information effectively enough, and control the purse strings. The rest will fall into place accordingly.

Only one problem though...their overall plan is so destructive and anti-human that it will in the end fail. The problem is...many people will suffer and die before it does.
