When I discovered the neighbour lady could hear me practice because the windows are always open (well, for 3 seasons of the year) I started using a mute on quiet evenings. At the moment a pair of clothespins on the bridge do the job, but I think I'll make a nice hardwood one when I've got some down time in the shop.
