I remember the excitement at our local shop when Whizzer and Chips was launched - the great draw being that you thought you got two comics for the price of one, as Chips was inside Whizzer.
Viz that did a wonderful parody of the classic text-heavy illustrated strips with 'Black Bag, the faithful Border Binliner' after the one about the border collie that appeared in - I think - the Eagle.
