I just bought NoAdware which really gets stuck into all these things that are hanging on your machine, and does a really good job of eliminating all these hidden things. It calls them parasites and informs you on how serious they are and why. The program gets you to click on a button to remove them. Its very similar to virus software and you scan on a regular basis and dowload updates on a regular basis.
