I am searching for information on a J. S. McConnell who had a phrenological character reading done by Professor O. S. Fowler on May 15th, 1862.

I have published a book by Fowler, titled Octagonal Houses of Maine.

In the reading, Fowler lists himself as Phrenological Author, Editor and Lecturer. The reading for J. S. McConnell was done in Gatesburg or Galesburg, Illinois.

Any information on this J. S. McConnell will be appreciated. From the dates, itt doesn't sound like it could be your musical J. S.
