Cheney may indeed be smart, but he would have been the GOP candidate for president last time around if he were at all electable.

He obviously has nothing but contempt for most of his fellow humans, viewing us as no more than patsies -- potential customers at best, cannon fodder at worst -- and it shows.

My wife Peggy quipped last night that Cheney is probably home in front of his mirror, practicing his warmest sneer. (Or did she steal that line from Letterman when I wasn't listening?)
