Usually just have an opportunity to get together wiht my sisters once in a great while. When we do, we sing all of the old girls scout camps songs, plus all of the old cowboy songs and pop songs (of our parent's age) we were raised on: Peace of the River; Old Apple Tree; Little Joe the Wrangler; Frankie & Johnny; a lot of KTrio; Prairie Lullaby; Barnacle Bill; When the Work's All Done this Fall; many, many more, including musicals. Now, thanks to my finding the Mudcat and thanks to Sandy & Caroline and Art, whose cd's I have, I am learning a bunch of new ones and sang Art's the cowboy's version of Barbara Allen, this summer for a CultureFest. Am learning The Master of the Sheepfold and Is Your Lamps Gone Out ala Art Thieme; Dark Island, Last Train for Glory, and Singer's Request ala S&C. Used to sing my brother's pop/romantic songs in concert, but it's too sad and frustrating anymore.
