This sounds pretty reactionary and close-minded to me. I for one am not perfectly happy with "how we do things" in the good old USA -- for one thing I cannot believe that we have had public education in this country for as long as we have -- since the late nineteenth century?-- and still produce such a rabid flock of illiterate jingoists and chauvinistic rabble-rousers, the kind of people who a few decades back would have been carrying otrches in a lynching parade.

If the author thinks that this is an example of tolerating free speech then I feel sorry for those who still believe we have some ideals guiding the country. This is just ill-mannered redneck hate-mongering.
