Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Funny traveller songs
This is a great one that i couldn't see on a quick scout of the DT. Sung as a parody of, you chose a fine time to leave me lucile. I only know of it recorded by Seamus Moore

In a pub in tullawadgin,
At a party for Padgin
The craic it was mighty one night
Guitars they were clangin'
Pool balls were bangin
And the Knackers were roarin' for fight
And when the drink finally hit 'em
Says Padgin "LETS GET 'EM"
And he made a mad rush 'cross the floor
Chairs started flyin', the old ones were cryin
Then there came a loud knock to the door.

It was the Garda Siochana outside
4 big red faces, hobnails and braces
And the knackers still roarin for fight
Ah the craic it was mighty that night

Down at the station,
would bring tears to our nation
To look at the cut of the boys
There was poor padgin,
The boys from Tullawadgin
And the knackers, who were all tellin lies
At 4 in the morning,
The sergant was yawning
when the last statement was read
And with two bleary eyes
After hearin such lies
He raised a big fist and he said

Go home now, get out of my sight
You're driving me crackers
Your nothing but knackers
And Padgin, you'll pay for this night
Ah the craic it was mighty that night

Now down in the courtroom
The next tuesday morning,
The courtroom was packed back to back
There was poor Padgin,
The boys from tullawadgin
And the knackers who started the craic
They were each fined a fiver
By the Judge called McGyver
And he scratched his bald head tryin to think,
It'd bring tears to a snowman
When he said "you can go man"
And he sees them stampede for more drink

Down in the pub around ten
There was poor padgin,
The boys from Tullawadgin
And the knackers were at it again!
In Tullawadgin sure the craic never ends
