This year it would be the hour that my student Elihu,(he claimed, rightly to being the only Newfoundlander without rhythm) finally broke through and became an autoharp player. He's worked so hard for 6 years, and music has been incredibly difficult for him, but one Wednesday morning he suddenly could play! We sat and improvised hymns (that's all he wants to play) for an hour and he heard all the chords and kept a solid rhythm. He's a missionary in the Carribean and has wanted to join in with the jam sessions after their "school and church building" projects for many years now. I think he's gonna have a ball. He's been the student I had to work hardest with, and that night Heather and I toasted his dedication.
