Somebody called my attention to this thread. It started off as a nice thread, and then was hijacked by you-know-who. I don't really know what to do with it, since the racist horseshit is so tightly interwoven with some thoughtful comments.

It would be nice if people would just refuse to respond to trolls, but that seems to happen rarely around here. There's always some Mudcatter who will take the bait.

I've been driving through the Bible Belt this week, passing dozens of churches with pithy sayings on their signboards by the road. One said, "The greatest act of courage is to ignore an insult."
Makes sense.

Anyhow, I guess I'll leave this thread unedited, for now. Please note that Mudcat does not "tolerate" this sort of racism - we just sometimes don't know what to do with it. Martin, those are people you're making those remarks about, people with kids and homes and moral values and all that good stuff that good people have. Certainly, some Muslims are terrorists. So are some Republicans.

So, cut out the racism. It's not cute.
