Sonnet 06/03/03                        DCCXCVII

I search for rose, to brush across my lips,
To be as soft as dryad's kiss. I find
No bloom as sweet as she. As my thought sips
From nectared verse, I hold my muse in mind.
I search for word to tell of the concern
Within my heart for one so dear. I write
Of passion, but find joy in just the turn
Of phrase that shows reflection of eyes' light.
I search for dream of future to give cause,
A purpose for my fate. Have I now found
One whose soul I might touch? My dreams now pause,
Held still by all the hopes that have them bound.
Sweet one, you offer smile as only gift:
Do you realize how much you spirits lift?
