Dianavan, there was about ZERO security in 1963, especially around Dallas PD headquarters. Jack Ruby was known there, a small-time club owner and crook. When they were moving Oswald it would have been no big deal for Ruby to get near enough to shoot him. Heck, just look at all the reporters that were there!

As for that list of people involved -- John Connally was himself shot and, if memory serves me rightly, he died damned near broke some years later (around the time of Nixon). Hoover disliked Bobby Kennedy and John for appointing Bobby AG, but then he also disliked Johnson (he had "the goods" of all three). To insert von Braun is silly -- he was far more interested in rockets than anything else (always was) and he didn't care who paid him as long as he could shoot them off (and Kennedy's challenge to land on the moon assured him of a good job). Others I know only as names and still others I don't know.

As for the mechanics of the shooting -- Bobert, you know what I did recently. If you want, I'll try to round up a high-power, bolt action, scoped rifle and try it again.
