I ask the world of you, dear muse, that you
Might give reason for dreams. I hope to share
Some part of future: Will I find hope true?
Shall I know if you have concern to spare?
I reach to touch you, with words of desire
If not my lips: You are now my dream's guide.
Have I the chance to find in you the fire
To warm my dreams, that I would winter bide?
Shall I dream of your smile, sweet muse, to light
Dark hours until the dawn? Hopes ask for more
Than my words can repay, but I seek sight
Of you, that I might all of dreams restore.
I dream, but know that dreams may not be real;
Yet find in dreams the hope to my heart heal.
