Subject: RE: BS: Bush, an American Saviour - seriously!
A well-meaning friend just forwarded this piece of spam, in case you haven't seen it; I won't put it all in; what I skipped was just more specific details of the same stuff. > Received this from a friend of a friend and thought you would be interested . . . I was privileged to attend the Bush Rally at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. I won't bore you with what Bush and the politicians had to say but what happened before the rally started made me so proud to be a member of the Minnesota Republican Party. > > Over 15,000 people showed up and many stood in line for 3 to 4 hours to get in. The host was Laura Ingraham, a syndicated radio talk show host. She said, "Before we start the rally does anyone object if we begin with prayer?" The place went nuts. Everyone was cheering at the top of their voice in approval. It didn't feel like a political rally. I felt like I was at a Promise Keepers conference or a Campus Crusade for Christ > rally. Then Dan Williams came to the podium to lead us in prayer. (Dan is running for a congressional seat in Minnesota.) Upon entering the Xcel center we were given inflatable thunder sticks to make noise. As Dan was praying, people were holding up their thunder sticks in the form of a cross all over the auditorium! > > We were told the Democrats will not pray at their rallies for fear it might "offend" someone > Then of course Bush entered and the place went berserk. With 15,000 plus people cheering about a mere mortal man, I couldn't help but imagine what it will be like when the whole world cheers when our Lord Jesus comes again. > > Get the word out . . .This election will change the course of American history.
My wife is a devout, I would have to say evangelical, Christian, but she just read this, shook her head, groaned a little, and got up and walked away.
