Its difficult to find the right words to describe John Peel's contribution to our music culture over the past 40 years or so. Perhaps 'AWSOME' comes near. He must have influenced and helped so many over all those years. He was honest in his approach, amazingly knowledgeable and never afraid to present something 'different' or experimental. I like many others, especially in the late sixties and early seventies got introduced to some amazing music through his programmes like 'Top Gear' like Tangerine Dream, Third Ear Band, Roy Harper, The Strawbs, The Floyd, Zeppelin etc etc. RIP John.
