Not that 'why' is of much relevance but it's for a costume of sorts...
The MKVII gas mask bag is the bag that Indiana Jones wears in the movies...
Through 'official' movie fan sites they can run as much as 110 bucks US plus shipping... I know they HAVE to be more affordable in the surplus stores....
And I also would imagine that they are easier to find on the UK side of the pond...
