I stopped using those infernal contraptions years ago. I had a deposit totally disappear once. And I quickly discovered that the ready availabity of cash increased the speed with which it was spent. Sometimes the delay in waiting for the bank to be open was just enough time for me to contemplate the wisdom of a possible expenditure. Besides, there's that nasty business of added fees for doing business through a machine owned by a different bank. I have always enjoyed the brief banter with the clerks inside. Some actually know me by name!
