I suffered from excess stomach acid and reflux for many years as a result of "plumbing alteration" after acute pancreatitis. I developed "Barret's Esophagus" finally, and now have my gullet stretched periodically [no great problem, and it helps]. Besides the usual bed-raising [good advice!], sleep on the left side and dietary care, my most effective action comprises a Nexium tablet daily. See your Doc., ask for this. I also commend the advice above signed "a friend". My partner had exactly the problem you describe [ she teaches] and was greatly helped by just such a clinic as "friend" describes. Good luck!
