Greenbriar Boys' guitar player John Herold observed Michael Nesmith flailing away on a song a breakneck speed. He took the future Monkey aside and suggested he slow the song down. Herold even gave it a slow, syncopated lope. The result was put on the Greenbriar Boys last album "Better Late Than Never." It has been Linda Ronstat's most recognized piece ever: "Different Drum".
