You won't be disappointed Tink. He has one song on this collection that I am absolutely touched by. From what I have heard, this is his best yet.
As I said before, you will want to listen for the song Jed wrote about his relationship with his beloved Mom, as she progressed through Alzheimers. Not only will the beauty of the song strike you, but his "take" on dealing with it will have you pondering the issue even while it isn't playing. Jed and I became friends and kindred spirits fairly quickly. When I hear this song, and ponder the wisdom and healthy way he deals with this, I can only tell you that I am touched deeply. I have said before that Jed puts his soul into every cut. But for me, on each of his CD's, there is that one or two tracks that reveal the wise and gently soul lurking inside this wonderful artist. And so it is on this CD.
Another observation on Paul. One of the reasons why these CD's will, in my estimation, be successful and acclaimed, is because Paul and Jed are attuned to one another in a very special way. When I am in the studio with them, it is a palpable and warm feeling. This is part of Paul's genius. He is able to lock into what you are trying to accomplish, help you clarify your message, and listen with the ears of a seasoned professional. That all by itself makes for world class recording. Factor in his friendship and interest in Jed's work, Jed's amazing wordsmithery, and you have the ingredients for a real treasure of a recording. Makes me very anxious to get started on my own with him. And we will, of course, have the Beef Bros. playing a role there as well.
BTW Tink and Jeri, I am beginning to question how it is that all these cars seem to get maladies that require me sticking my arse up in the air, and crawling around on the ground. Methinks something doth not smell rightly.
