i guess it's more of an agnostic hymn, but iris dement's "let the mystery be" is a great song that proclaims belief in love and living life accordingly, despite not knowing where we'll all end up in the final analysis. i never thought about it for a wedding, but i sure have thought it'd make a great, happy song at a funeral. another great one for a funeral that i'd consider a philosophical rather than theological hymn is gillian welch's "i'm not afraid to die," very serene and beautiful. probably not appropriate for a wedding, though! margaret
