Hillary is the democratic front runner for 2008.   I don't see how she will do any different from Kerry on the electoral map.   The only democrats to win the presidency in the past 20 years were from the south.    (Carter and Clinton)   The south is now solidly republican. (4 more senate seats won in the south)   How is Hillary going to get southern votes?   Or midwestern/southwestern votes? I see her with the Northeast and West Coast.   That won't win the election.    I am not sure Hillary will play in Minnesota or Wisconsin either.   Ther isn't a southern democrat to run as a VP that will change that- note success of Edwards in south.

If see Jeb and Rudy as the front runners for republicans.   I think Rudy can beat Hillary in NY and NJ.   He is god like there.   That alone would make Rudy attractive.   Democrats can't win without carrying NY.

PS: dont' count out 2006 senate race.   Democrats have 18 seats to defend- republicans only 15.   Possible retirements for Byrd, Kennedy, Feinstein and Liebeman?
