JAB - no, it isn't rude to carry on multiple conversations, nor to reply to something that flew past. Slow keyboarders are at a distinct dis-advantage, however, due to the nature of the beast.

If you are responding to a specific comment, most people would probably preface their response with the name of the person who made the comment...

it CAN be very confusing. I had to leave the console for a minute last night, and you had "left the room" before I had a chance to say much to you...(which is just as well as I have been running on minus-sleep--but...)

So try again some time, wednesday nights between 7:00 and roughly 11:00-ish MudCat time are probably the most likely times to find someone there, but Thursdays have been pretty active as well lately. on the hour is your best bet.
