Bugsy, I'm sorry you feel that way, you shouldn't. I agree with MMario's comments over the chat room and it is a very friendly place to everybody once you get used to it.

The first couple of times I tried it, I was completely lost but it does get easier after a while. Multiple conversations do add to the confusion but after a while, you will find yourself joining in more than one conversation at the same time. Also, don't feel that you have to follow the existing conversations, you could always introduce a new topic...
