The Nazis established puppet regimes in occupied countries too, Doug. Vidkun Quisling ran one of them in Norway, didn't he? Another comparable regime: Ngo Dinh Diem in South Vietnam. Remember him? To think that the USA is establishing...or ever had any intention of establishing...a democracy in Iraq (or anywhere else) is to believe in an utter and absolute fairy tale. The USA establishes puppet client states who follow orders without question or get terminated.

Now, I'm not saying that YOU don't want democracy in Iraq. I know you do. That's fine. But what you don't get is that that is NOT what your government wants or has any intention of doing. And it never was.
