Not totally on topic, but isn't it a pretty common historical happenstance where small power under the heal of bigger power cries out for aide and bloody HUGE power crosses the Channel (or the Irish Sea) and helps out the poor unfortunate while helping itself to everything at the table? And usually it's the latter that gets to DEFINE morality rendering the topic of this thread mute, or moot, or myut. Occasionally some harpist from the lower depths survives and renders into poetry something so beautiful that the world remmebers it for a thousand years. And it, of course, is total baloney.
