Great description BB. The dots are why I floundered at school. Not so much reading them on the stave, but above and below. Also keeping the length of the notes. Ive always played by ear, but didnt realise it was the best way to learn a tune.
Think its great that people are taking up instruments in middle age and above. I really thought that if you hadnt mastered an instrument in your teens you were a no hoper. Our sunday sessions have luckily disproved that misconception.
