Subject: Lyr Req: a black bird ... 18 to wed and dalesman
Test your knowledge...we are stumped! Here is a little collection of bit part lyrics gathered in snatches that I have been nursing and as yet have been unable to identify/ complete.....Can you help?! Also, if you know who sings a good rendition, I would be eternally grateful, these have been going round and round for a while!!!
Here goes... 1. And if I was a blackbird, I'd whistle and sing, I'd follow the vessel my true love sailed in, and in that fair brigand(?) I'd there build my nest, flutter my wings 'gainst his lily white chest.........ish ? 2. I am eighteen years old today mama and I'm longing to be wed so find for me a young man to be with me she said. so find for me a young man to lie with me at night, and I'll roll him in my a a a arms he'll be my one delight.....?
And finally 3. The Dalesmans litany.......do you know who sings a good version of this that I might buy
Hooray many thanks and pats on the back to whoever unravels my mini mystery.....
