Well Kat, I guess I have changed my perspective in the years that have passed since I was all-wise at the age of 20. I'm less likely to believe in posturing and provocation as effective tools, and I'm much more likely to take the effort to listen to those who disagree with me at try to understand them. Issues that seemed so clear-cut 30 years ago, now look a lot more muddy to me.
To a great extent, I think I've improved with age. I've maintained my ideals, but I tend to tolerate people more than I used to. There's a danger in that, though - too much tolerance can dull our zeal for justice.
Now that I'm retired and don't have to answer to an employer, life is a brand-new adventure ahead for me. I think I'll go joust a few windmills.
