Thread Name: Lyr Req: Mr. Spider (Little Body Rinctum)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Mr. Spider (Little Body Rinctum)'
I, too, have searched for this song for years. It's interesting that there are so many variations. My grandmother sang a version she called "Lattibone Rigdum." She said she learned it growing up in rural Mississippi. It sounded something like this (again, I'm approximating with the lyrics):

Where shall the wedding supper be? Way down yonder in the hollow tree.
Kymo, rigdum, rigdum, rigdum, lattibone kymo.
Kymo hero captain makiro kymo.
Rigdum, rigdum, rigdum, rigdum lattibone kymo.
Buminickle suminickle lattibone rigdum rigdum lattibone kymo.

What shall the wedding supper be? [something] soup and [something] tea.
Kymo, rigdum, rigdum, rigdum, lattibone kymo.
Kymo hero captain makiro kymo.
Rigdum, rigdum, rigdum, rigdum lattibone kymo.
Buminickle suminickle lattibone rigdum rigdum lattibone kymo.

If the author of this thread is still around, I'd be interested to know where and when his grandmother learned the song. Any other information would also be appreciated.

Thanks!
