Ellenpoly...it's not a matter of 'vile' to many of us, it's that certain words are loaded with layers of emotional meaning...whether good or bad. The society has made them useful for heightening the relevant emotion when used sparingly and in certain circumstances. If they are used willy-nilly (no, that does NOT mean "without a penis"), they lose much of their force. It's very much like cheerleading at a sports event...repetition of set phrases withvocal emphasis pumps up the crowd...but it is not what you'd do at the dinner table. "We LIKE the steak, we LIKE the steak.."

I just hate to see language diluted until there IS no way to cuss easily, or express strong sexual feelings by using words you don't use everyday....everything is a matter of context.

There...I hope that's enough boring pedantry for everyone..
