Do any of you have Freecycle in your area? I joined the local Richmond chapter and it's really great. Instead of taking things to thrift shops, you advertize on Freecyle what you want to get rid of. People interested in the item contact you by e-mail and make arrangements to come pick it up. Hence, you don't have to lug it to goodwill or whatever. You'd be amazed at the things that are offered for free! It's great. And a great way to keep landfills free of things others have a use for. I gave away an old gas fireplace insert(that still worked). I didn't have to haul it and someone else can use it.
