Hey, burntstump:

I'm afraid that that information is more scattered around here. Many folk clubs will list who is performing in other area clubs, usually with a telephone number. When I was performing more regularly, I slowly amassed a list of clubs and contacts in the Midwest and on the East Coast. Sorry to say, my list is too far out of date now to be of much help to you. And, as has been pointed out, this is a biiiiig country. I never knew any of the clubs on the West Coast, except a couple by name. Folk music is extremely regional over here, in great part because it's difficult financially to travel around the country performing. All the years that I ran a folk concert series, I rarely booked anyone from the West Coast because I couldn't pay them enough to even cover travel. On rare occasions, someone would be resourceful enough to piece together enough bookings and come East to stay with family, but we're talking rare. I think that happened once in 27 years, but I'm not even positive about that.

Maybe someone will come on who is a member of the Folk Alliance (I am not.) I don't know if they have a directory that is available. If you're thinking of coming over and are looking for gigs, you would have better success starting a thread about folk clubs in a much more limited region of the country. Maybe then, someone will respond.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I didn't want your request to lie a molderin' in the grave.
