I second the opinion about feeding trolls.

As hard as this murder is to comprehend, I put it in the realm of what I call a 'sacred killing'. You see this happen in on-going entrenched political warfare where there is tremendous imbalances of power between the warring groups. The group that does the murdering murders a person sacred in some way to either it's own side or their enemy's. Sadly and depressingly, these sorts of sacred killings among warring factions are not all that uncommon these days.

These are the darkest of killings, intended to strike at the very heart of reason, hence their effectiveness and their depravity. Most killing in wartime is senseless slaughter. This wasn't a senseless act, it was a well considered one, aimed straight at the heart of all that Westerners wish to believe about themselves: that we are, or at least believe we have the capacity to be compassionate, caring, and courageous in the face of violence.
