I think you all--especially Rustic--should be interested in this wonderful research reported lately in the New York Times about sensory substitution. Seems if -- for example -- your inner ear is not sending your brain the right sensory information, these guys can rig up some wires and such and get your tongue to do it instead.

This opens up all kinds of possibilities.

Reminds me of an old joke with a punch line involving tapping a young woman on the shoulder and asking her what time it is.
