Good luck with your dog, WW, however it goes. It is always hell, you feel guilty whatever happens, even when you try and do what is best for your pet -- some part of you keeps whispering: am I keeping things going for my sake, am I ending things for my sake....If your dog doesn't make it, try planting a tree somewhere nearby in memory. It worked for a friend of mine, who lost a cat that had been her pal for 17 years. She said to me a few days after the little ceremony that it was the only thing that partly filled up the cat-shaped hole in her life, because it was something positive and physical. She was only sorry that she hadn't done it immediately, but waited 4 months. Have a drink, too. yours, Peter T.
