Thread Name: Books: What Are You Reading?
Subject: RE: BS: What Are You Reading?
if i am not mistaken, Ursula LeGuin's parents were
Theodora Krober and Alfred or Albert Krober
the sociologist/anthropologist/archaeologists
from U.C. Berkely who studied and wrote about
Ishi, the man known as the "Last Wild Indian"
who stumbled into Oroville in 1911, nearly
starved, and in grief over the loss of his
fellow tribe members and family.
I have heard it said that she wrote about
future societies analizing them as if they
were the ancient ones her parents studied.
