A friend of mine bought this record set (Folkways) back in the Fifties and a bunch of us sat around listening to the whole thing one evening. Fascinating stuff! I didn't get it because I couldn't afford it at the time (starving student mode). Huge collection of songs, but what really makes it are the stories he tells.

One cut that blew me off my chair was his singing of Springtime in the Rockies, and doing a pretty fair imitation of Gene Autry!
