I agree that there is no evidence of pigs in the Sahara around 3000 BC. Sheep herders and goats, yes. If memory serves me right, I think pigs were found a little later around the Med. It is also known that throughout the history of the middle east, cedars were extensively harvested.

Before the "dust bowl" there were vast herds of buffalo and native grasses and a unique ecosystem, and nomadic tribes. Then they killed the buffalo...
