Mary---may I suggest [meekly!] that there is no such thing as a "managed " forest. You may have a manmade woodlot. Those who replant clearcuts [and they are right to do so] don't pay any attention to what truly makes a forest--mushrooms, groundcover, the forest fauna, and many other forest characteristics. A tree plantation, yes. A forest? No.
