Remember that ceilidh now means different things in Scotland and England - a Scottish ceilidh is basically an informal concert where people can get up and dance about to tune sets or sit and listen to songs. South of the border ceilidh is used as an alternative to Barn Dance for an evening of structured dancing with a caller, with maybe a couple of listeneing sets or a song to let the dancers get their breath back. make sure you know what sort of ceilidh she wants, and make sure the band knows what sort of ceilidh you want.
