Sorry, didn't see your thread before I posted mine. We are into Orion season.... I thought the first half of Cold Mountain was one of the best books I had ever read. I thought the last half was terribly disappointing -- an bad example of wish fulfillment. He should have been killed earlier or not at all. Beautifully written, though. yours, Peter T.
