My mother believed all of that stuff in the last decade or so of her life. And she spread it to two of my sisters in the process.

My mother was in no way a right-winger, politically, either. She described herself as a fiscal liberal and a social conservative. And the church she belonged to was Presbyterian. I think that stuff is a lot more common than many people would be prepared to believe.
