You can buy pads of paper at any music store that has the staffs for standard notation already printed on it. These also work well for mandolin tab; just use the spaces as strings.

For guitar tab, check out this web site, and download PowerTab. You can write tab for 4, 5, or 6-string instruments, or just print out blank lines.
