Sonnet 23/07/03                                DCCCXXXIV

Upon a mountain mage might find his muse
Looking out upon the world, yet apart
From frantic pace. He offers all his art
To fulfill all desires: Passions now choose
To send her all his dreams. He does not lose
By giving: He holds tight to visions, vain
Though his hopes seem. Yet, what he stands to gain
Exceeds all hopes: Can he that chance refuse?
He offers all, but knows not to demand:
In years, he has some wisdom earned. He knows
Dreams are not real, though might in time occur.
He seeks to know her heart, to understand
If he might fill her needs. His desire grows,
But he wonders how his dreams look to her.
