Sonnet 24/07/03                         DCCCXXXV

I dream about the curve along her jaw,
To touch with fingertips, or with lips trace
Under the moon. Is there unwritten law
That I must hope to touch only her face?
I dream of all of her: Her neck a path
For passion and desire. I will not lie:
I lust for this sweet maid, but fear the wrath
That undesired actions would let fly.
I cannot think it wrong, to want my muse,
But wish her happiness. Should I let dreams
Fill all my lines, or quietly refuse
To have passion control my heart with schemes?
I must from muse all guidance for hope take:
She has the means to heart destroy, or make.
